Summary

The main objective of Preparatory Actions is to prepare future EU actions in various priority policy fields.

Programme Description

Preparatory Actions are divided into five headings as follows:

Heading 1a ‐ Competitiveness for Growth and Jobs

    The awarded consortium will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing an app for truckers, free of charge, where drivers and operators can access detailed information about any point of interest, and provide their feedback. The information generated by the app should also be made available and exploitable by third party systems.

    The work includes the identification of points of interest in scope, defining main indicators and information needs of truckers, determine functional requirements, development of the app and the supporting systems, testing, deployment and communication.

  • Game-changing innovations for European launch solutions

    This is a topic for an EU prize in the field of access to space under the EU Space Programme.

    When adopting the 2024 Union Budget, the Council and the European Parliament decided to finance a preparatory action, within the meaning of point b) of Article 58(2) of the Financial Regulation and entitled “Game-changing innovation for European launch solutions”.

    The European Commission adopted a Decision on 4 April 2024, including this preparatory action, on “the Work Programme for 2024 and on the financing for the implementation of certain pilot projects and preparatory actions relating to the Union Space Programme and Horizon Europe for the year 2024”.

    Access to space is an indispensable element of the space ecosystem, without which there is no Union space policy, which supports many political priorities.

    The general policy objective is to support the development of game-changing innovations that have the potential to revolutionise the future of access to space and improve the competitiveness of the European space industry.

  • The promotion of handicraft products and support of craftsmen

  • Preparatory Actions - European Narratives Observatory to fight Disinformation - Detecting influence campaigns and boosting societal resilience

To further advance the state of the art in the understanding of the impact of narratives on society, as well as the development of concrete methodologies, tools and approaches to monitor and engage with them, this call for proposals will fund two projects.

    1. The first one will focus on the monitoring of narratives and the detection of malicious campaigns in the EU’s information space.
    2. The second will focus on assessing the concrete impact that online disinformation has on citizens and propose and implement meaningful strategies to reduce societal polarisation.

    • develop a set of complementary measures and activities that would address the issues related with the Call and have concrete benefits for the maximum number of European Anti-Doping Organizations (ADOs) and, more generally, the anti-doping system.
    • allow ADOs to partner with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to conduct investigations, protect whistle-blowers and cooperate on joint investigations with law enforcement agencies and the global network of investigators.
    • build capacity in the European anti-doping system, it is necessary to reduce the prevalence of doping in sport, maximising the health benefits generated by the practice of clean sport by European youths.

    Under the Annual Work Programme for the implementation of Pilot Projects and Preparatory Actions in the areas of education, youth, sport and culture, a new call has opened for the submission of proposals with the title “Preparatory action – Bottom-up Policy Development for Culture & Well-being in the EU”.

    The proposed preparatory action shall facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience and success stories in the EU, related to the role of culture for well-being and health.
