- Solutions and technologies to reduce technology costs
- Resilience and security of energy systems
- Integration into the built environment – new materials, solutions and technologies for buildings
- Energy efficiency in industry
- Energy Storage Technologies
- Renewable fuels and bioenergy
- Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) & Carbon Capture and Use (CCU)
- Zero-net emission energy systems

According to the General Director of the Foundation, Mr. Theodoros Loucaides, “This programme, as well as other RIF funding programmes, such as Research in Business and PhD in Industry, help accelerate the green transition and encourage investment in the vital energy sector. The research organisations of our country have significant know-how, which can be used productively by businesses, enhancing their competitiveness and promoting solutions to important needs and challenges of society”.
It is noted that the entities selected for funding will automatically be able to take advantage of the free innovation support services and knowledge transfer tools offered by the Foundation.
