Horizon Europe Programme: Work Program 2023-2024 for Cluster 3: Civil Security for Society

On 31 March 2023, the European Commission (EU) adopted the new Work Program 2023-2024 for Cluster 3: Civil Security for Society (Multisectoral Priority 3: “Civil Protection for Society”) of the Framework Program for Research and Innovation, “Horizon Europe”. The new Work Program for Cluster 3 includes a total of 48 topics, and has a budget of €367,8 million.

The aim of Cluster 3 is to offer new solutions to issues related to citizen safety and cyber security, the prevention of risks from natural and man-made disasters, and the resilience of European society. In addition, learning through the challenges that arose during the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it seeks to develop expertise and cross-sectoral tools for prevention, mitigation and preparedness in crisis management, including health crises.

COST OPEN CALL FOR PROPOSALS – 6 MONTHS UNTIL THE DEADLINE

COST offers networking opportunities for researchers, in order to support Europe in facing scientific, technological and societal challenges. Specifically, COST Actions are interdisciplinary research networks that bring together researchers, in order to coordinate research activities under a topic of their choice for 4 years. COST Actions are open to all scientific and technological fields, including new and emerging fields. The funding covers networking activities such as events, short term scientific missions, training schools, dissemination activities, virtual networking tools and more.

RENEWFM: The EU Renewable Energy Financing Mechanism launches its first call for proposals

The first call for proposals of the EU Renewable Energy Financing Mechanism has been launched on 18 April 2023.

On the basis of Member States’ expression of interest and binding commitments, CINEA has opened the first-ever cross-border tender for renewables on 18 April. The call will close on 27 of September. For this call, Luxembourg will participate as a contributing country, voluntarily contributing EUR 40 million to the mechanism. Finland will be the hosting country.

The call will support new solar PV projects located in Finland with a minimum capacity of 5 MW and a maximum of 100 MW. The total capacity of the call is expected to be 400 MW.
