The proposal should contribute to public understanding and awareness of the use of alternative proteins produced through biotechnology and help to combat misinformation in this area.

The proposal should also consider which (new) food products offer market opportunities and where the potential for their production lies, as well as what accompanying measures (hygiene conditions, dissemination campaign, etc.) are necessary to make consumers aware of and open to including alternative proteins produced through biotechnology in their diets .
