Horizon Europe is the European Union (EU) funding programme for the period 2021 – 2027, which targets the sectors of research and innovation. The programme’s budget is around € 95.5 billion, of which € 5.4 billion is from NextGenerationEU to stimulate recovery and strengthen the EU’s resilience in the future, and € 4.5 billion is additional aid.
Proposals under this Call, will support research and innovation (R&I) to help the agricultural / forestry sectors to remain productive and contribute to sustainable agriculture and/or forest health.
Proposals should target one or more plant pest(s) that are either Union quarantine plant pests present in the EU or Union quarantine pests which are priority pests in the EU, and that are of concern for agriculture and/or forestry.
Proposals should:
International cooperation with countries affected or threatened by the same pest(s) is strongly
encouraged. The possible participation of the JRC in the project will consist of supporting the analysis of social and economic implications for farmers affected by the plant pest(s) and developing approaches on how to best cope with the situation when affected.
