Summary

This topic covers all research objectives for the steel sector, as set out in the RFCS Regulation, i.e.:

  • new, sustainable and low-carbon steelmaking and finishing processes
  • advanced steel grades and applications
  • conservation of resources, protection of the environment and circular economy
  • management of work force and working conditions.

Proposals should address the RFCS objectives listed above.
There are no annual priorities for this topic.

This topic concerns RFCS Steel Research Projects (RPJs).
Research Projects (RPJs) target investigative or experimental work aiming to acquire knowledge that helps to facilitate the attainment of specific practical objectives, such as the creation or development of new products, production processes or services.

Eligibility For Participation Notes

In order to be eligible, the applicants (beneficiaries and affiliated entities) must:

  • be legal entities (public or private bodies, e.g. undertakings, public bodies, research organizations, higher or secondary education establishments or other legal entities) which carry out an RTD activity or substantially contribute to such an activity
  • be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs)
    • non-EU countries : countries associated to the RFCS or countries which are in ongoing negotiations for an association agreement and where the agreement enters into force before grant signature
