CIRCAT (Cybersecurity Infrastructure Resilience, Collaboration, and Advanced Training) – Open Call 1: Penetration Testing Scenarios Development

Summary

CIRCAT aims to provide a solution that leverages cutting-edge AI-enhanced tools and processes to support organisations, in particular large industrial installations and infrastructures, in their efforts to increase the level of protection and resilience to cyber threats. CIRCAT will complement the existing efforts of these organisations towards effective and continuous risk assessment along with testing and training in a secure, controlled environment.

Detailed Call Description

Selected beneficiaries have to develop testing scenarios for Networks, Applications, Virtualisation, Cloud, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), and IoT within CIRCAT prioritised verticals: Energy, Health, Public Administration, Digital infrastructure, ICT Service management (B2B) and the Financial market infrastructure. Applications must address large industrial operators.

Eligible Activities:

  1. Vulnerability Testing Support: Developing and documenting realistic penetration testing scenarios.
  2. Threat & Risk Assessment Support: Conducting customised risk scenario analyses

€720.000

The maximum grant amount is up to €40.000 per grantee, based on the budget included in the application form. The Project budget is part of the application form. The total amount you outlined will be fixed and will determine the maximum grant you’ll receive. Applicants must co-finance the proposed activity by a minimum of 50% of the total project costs to be eligible for the maximum €40.000 grant. The grant will be paid as a lump sum.

The programme lasts up to 6 months and is divided into three stages:

  • Individual Mentoring Plan, Funding tranche: Up to 10% of the grant amount.  Duration: Up to 1 month.
  • Scenario Definition, Funding tranche: Up to 57.5% of the grant amount Duration: Up to 3 month and
  • Scenario Integration & Validation Funding tranche: Up to 32.5% of the grant amount .Duration: Up to 2 month.

Eligibility For Participation Notes

Proposals can be submitted by National Cybersecurity Authorities, National Coordination Centres, Operators of Essential Services, large industrial installations, governmental entities, and other stakeholders with the capacity to aggregate demand.

Eligible applicants include SMEs, mid-caps, large companies, research centres including universities, and public bodies that are registered in, and controlled by, an entity or person established in a Member State of the European Union or the European Economic Area.
