THALIA: Foundations of Change, Prosperity, Equality and Development
Programme “THALIA 2021-2027” constitutes a multi-annual, multi-fund development Programme that was drawn up in accordance to the Article 22 of the Regulation (EU) 2021/1060 (Common Provisions Regulation – CPR), outlining the development strategy for the utilisation of the resources allocated to Cyprus through the Cohesion Policy Funds, for the period 2021-2027.
The total budget of the Programme amounts to €1.81 billion, of which €968 million comes from the EU Cohesion Policy Funds, while the remaining €842 million is the national contribution.
The aim of the STEP programme is to support enterprises in Cyprus to establish facilities and production lines for the development and manufacturing of innovative products and services, in line with the EC STEP Regulation.
It will provide support for the development and manufacturing of critical technologies in three sectors:
Development refers to activities aimed at: achieving technological breakthroughs, perfecting the technology for market needs, including enhancing its efficiency, reliability, and developing standards.
Manufacturing includes: setting up production lines, first-of-a-kind-facilities, the extension or repurposing of existing facilities,scaling up processes to meet demand, and/or implementing quality control mechanisms to ensure the consistent production of high-quality products.
Proposed projects must necessarily include Manufacturing activities. They may also include Development activities for perfecting the technology for market needs.
The total available budget under the present call is €10.000.000. The maximum funding per project is €2.000.000.
Budget Distribution:
Enterprises legally established and active in territories under the control of the Republic of Cyprus. Additional Research Organisations, Enterprises and Other Organisations may participate as Partner Organisations.
In cases where the Host Organisation is a Large Enterprise and Article 29 is applied for the purposes of funding, an SME that incurs at least 30 % of the total eligible costs must participate in the Consortium.
Proposals can be submitted by a Small, Medium or Large Enterprise (Host Organisation).
