The SoilTribes project aims to transform the way society values and interacts with soil by fostering soil literacy, connectivity, and sustainable practices. This innovative initiative focuses on empowering multi-actor communities- referred to as “tribes”- to cocreate and implement solutions that address the critical challenges facing soil health today.
At its core is the SoilTribes Community of Practice (CoP), a vibrant, mission-driven network made up of members from academia, business, government, civil society, and the natural environment. Through co-creation, design thinking, and resource sharing, CoP members co-develop tools, campaigns, events, and policy proposals that drive systemic change for healthier soils. The SoilTribes project has allocated a total budget of €24.000 to support the Lump Sum Micro-Grants scheme for members of the CoP. For the first call the available call budget is €6.000.
This is the first of four open calls to be launched during the project’s two-year timeframe, through which a total of 32 micro-grants of €750 will be awarded. The second open call is expected to launch in December 2025, followed by the third in June 2026, and the fourth and final call in December 2026.
Each CoP member may receive a maximum of €1.500 (VAT included) in micro-grants over the course of the SoilTribes project. Since each grant is capped at €750 per call, this means a CoP member can be awarded no more than two micro- grants in total and only one grant per call.
