JARVIS Open Call #2 – External Pilots Track

Summary

The objective of this track is to support the development and real-world validation of innovative solutions that demonstrate the replicability and sustainability of JARVIS technologies across new sectors and use cases.

Detailed Call Description

For the External Pilots track applicants are invited to submit proposals addressing one of the following challenges:

  • Worker-Centric Collaborative Robotics Applications for Physically Demanding Tasks in Manufacturing Environments
  • Adaptive Human – Robot Interaction in Complex Manufacturing Processes
  • Remote Human – Robot Interaction for Inspection and Maintenance of Plants, Infrastructure Areas and Linear Infrastructure
  • Inspection and Maintenance of Industrial and Public Sector Assets and Equipment
  • Human-Robot Interaction in Emerging and Strategic Domains

Applicants are expected to deliver a functional pilot demonstrating the proposed solution (TRL7).

Call Total Budget

€650.000

Financing percentage by EU or other bodies / Level of Subsidy or Loan

The total budget for the EXTERNAL PILOTS TRACK 2, is up to € 650 000. The financial support to be granted to each selected project is up to € 130 000. It will support 5 projects over a 10 month period.

Selected projects for the EXTERNAL PILOTS TRACK 2 will follow a structured development process consisting of 3 sprints:

  1. Requirements Sprint – 2 months.
  2. Development & Deployment Sprint – 6 months.
  3. Integration & Validation Sprint-2 months.

Eligibility For Participation Notes

This call is addressed to micro-consortia composed of minimum 2 and maximum 3 legal entities. The structure must balance technical innovation with real-world industrial application. All participating entities must be legally established in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country and must hold a valid VAT number (or equivalent national tax identifier) at the time of application.

Or

In order to be eligible, the consortium must consist of 2-3 partners, specifically:

  • Lead Partner to fill the role of Technology Developer/Integrator with the profile of start-up or SME responsible for core development (and technical integration) into the JARVIS framework.
    • Note: In a two-partner consortium, this entity also performs the “Technology Integrator” role.
  • Second partner to fill the role of use-case provider with the profile of industrial company or infrastructure owner providing the industrial testbed, defining the use case and validating the solution’s market fit.
  • Third partner (optional) to fill the role of the technology integrator with the profile of a Technology Startup, SME, or Research and Technology Organisation (RTO).

 

Additional requirements: 

  • Organisations must be legally established in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country
  • A valid VAT number (or equivalent) is required
  • Startups and SMEs must be established for at least one year

Entities successfully funded under JARVIS Open Call 1 (OC1) are eligible to apply for the current Open Call, provided they comply with the cumulative funding ceiling established by the JARVIS Grant Agreement.
