JARVIS Open Call #2 – Co-development Track

Summary

The objective of this track is to enhance the JARVIS framework by developing new modular HRI technologies, validating advanced collaborative robotics components up to TRL6, and accelerating their uptake in real industrial environments.

Detailed Call Description

For the Co-development  track applicants are invited to submit proposals addressing one of the following topics, each linked to a specific JARVIS pilot:

  • Aeronautics Manufacturing (COLLINS Pilot)
    • Topic 1: Large and deformable parts models supporting the implementation of impedance control-based co-manipulation
    • Topic 2: Zero Interface Human-Robot Interaction in Agile Manufacturing
    • Topic 3: Real-Time Robot Trajectory and Dress Pack Collision Avoidance
  • Automotive Manufacturing (TOFAS Pilot)
    • Topic 1: Intelligent Mechatronic System for Collaborative Manipulation of Linear Flexible Components
    • Topic 2: Wearable-Augmented Human Tracking for Uncertainty Reduction in Close-Range Human–Robot Collaboration
    • Topic 3: Digital Safety Validation and Risk-Aware Design for Close-Range Human–Robot Collaboration
  • Nuclear Plants Decommissioning (EDF Pilot)
    • Topic 1: Optimization of waste volume packaging
    • Topic 2: Anomaly detection for teleoperation and skills execution
  • Offshore Inspection & Maintenance (EQUINOR Pilot)
    • Topic 1: Robust self-localization and mapping with mobile robots in semi-outdoor process plant environments
    • Topic 2: Online automatic detection of damages on metal/concrete infrastructure and/or operational features
    • Topic 3: Autonomous intervention with mobile manipulator using Foundation Models

Call Total Budget

€800.000

Financing percentage by EU or other bodies / Level of Subsidy or Loan

The total budget for the CO-DEVELOPERS track 1, is up to €800.000. The financial support to be granted to each selected project is up to €100.000. It will support 8 projects over a 9 month period.

Selected projects for the CO-DEVELOPERS track 1 will follow a structured development process consisting of 3 sprints:

  1. Requirements Sprint – 2 months.
  2. Development & Deployment Sprint – 5 months.
  3. Integration & Validation Sprint-2 months.

Eligibility For Participation Notes

This call is addressed to individual organisations or micro-consortia of 2 legal entities. To ensure an industry-driven approach, the consortium must be led by a technology startup or SME. All participating entities must be legally established in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country and must hold a valid VAT number (or equivalent national tax identifier) at the time of application.

Note: While the participation of a Knowledge Provider (RTO) is optional, the consortium must demonstrate a clear path toward industrial HRI adoption and technical validation.

Or

In order to be eligible, the consortium must include partners covering the following profiles: Developer/Integrator, represented by 2 organisations.

  • Lead Partner to be Technology Developer/Integrator responsible for core development and technical integration into the JARVIS framework.
  • Second partner to be another Tech Startup or SME complementing the consortium with technical expertise or integration capabilities.

Additional requirements: 

  • Organisations must be legally established in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country
  • A valid VAT number (or equivalent) is required
  • Startups and SMEs must be established for at least one year.

Entities successfully funded under JARVIS Open Call 1 (OC1) are eligible to apply for the current Open Call, provided they comply with the cumulative funding ceiling established by the JARVIS Grant Agreement.
