iNNO SED aims to advance and showcase sediment assessment methodologies while demonstrating management solutions for specific sediment-related challenges. Examples of these challenges include river sections exposed to severe erosion, impoundments undergoing continuous sedimentation, or areas with polluted sediments. Such sediment issues are not confined to the Danube River Basin. Many large river systems worldwide encounter similar concerns due to human activities like river regulation, hydropower generation, and flood protection measures.
The INNO SED Open Call offers a unique opportunity for ARs to actively participate in advancing innovative sediment management solutions. Aligned with the project’s primary objectives, this call focuses on two key aspects: knowledge transfer and scalability of sediment-related solutions in various river basins. Through this call, INNO SED seeks to present how management tools and methodologies can be transferred and adapted in river systems sharing similar challenges, such as severe erosion in the riverbed, continuous sedimentation in impoundments or polluted sediments. The call has a clear European dimension.
iNNO SED expects to fund projects from at least 5 different ‘Associated Regions’in the following type of activities:
Projects should support data and knowledge sharing through and as well benefit from the Ocean and Water Knowledge System to foster cross-regions, and pan-European approaches.
A total budget of €500.000 is allocated to the iNNO SED financial support to third parties (FSTP). The maximum amount of financial support to each third party is set up to €100.000.
This call will fund 5 projects from at least 5 different ‘Associated Regions’.
Only one proposal will be accepted for funding per applicant.
Applicants can only be local/regional authorities from ‘Associated Regions’. ‘Associated Regions’ have to be located in Member States/Associated countries other than those that are part of the iNNO SED project consortium (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine).
The application form to be used and the link for uploading the application are provided under https://innosed.eu/associated-regions.
Proposals must include all sections included in the ‘submission template’.
