HERIFORGE 1st Open Call

Summary

The main goal of HERIFORGE (cultural HERitage and Immersive technologies for innovation FORGE) is to develop a network of three interconnected place-based hubs in Poland, Cyprus and Turkey providing Research and Innovation environment for innovation in the Cultural and Creative Industries with the responsible use of XR (extended reality) technologies and cultural heritage for the benefit of social resilience.

Detailed Call Description

HERIFORGE addresses these technical challenges along with values and objectives identified by the Partnerships for Regional Innovation, to foster stakeholder actions in the transition towards sustainable development paths and targeting place-based transitions.

The HERIFORGE 1st Open Call invites applications for innovative projects that develop technical solutions using immersive technologies in the field of cultural heritage.

The total budget available for this Open call is €300.000.

The maximum grant amount is up to €50.000 per grantee based on the budget included in the application form.

This Open Call will support up to 6 selected proposals that address specific Challenges defined by the HERIFORGE Hubs.

The grant will be paid as a lump sum.

Successful applicants will receive financial support of up to €50.000, along with technical mentoring for a maximum duration of up to 6 months, which is divided into 3 stages:

  • Stage 1: Plan Phase, during which the beneficiary should deliver an Individual Mentoring Plan (including a design, challenges and activities planned, and a budget), the duration of this stage is up to 1 month and, after completing it, the beneficiary will receive the 20% of the requested grant (up to €15.000).
  • Stage 2: Development Phasewhich should lead to a Technical Report of the Prototype Release(minimal requirement). The duration of this stage is 3 months and, after completing it, the beneficiary will receive the 50% of the requested grant (up to €25.000).
  • Stage 3: Release Phasewhich should lead to a Technical Report on the Conducted Demonstration(minimal requirement). The duration of this stage is 2 months and, after completing it, the beneficiary will receive the 30% of the requested grant (up to €15.000).

Eligibility For Participation Notes

Eligible applicants include SMEs (including startups), natural persons, and NGOs, foundations or associations, primarily established in Cyprus, Poland, or Türkiye. Entities from other EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries may also apply, provided they can demonstrate in the application, a local footprint in those regions (i.e. local staff, business record).

Applicants can be individual SMEs (including startups), NGOs or Natural persons, located in: 

  1. Cyprus, Poland or Türkiye or
  2. The Member States of the European Union and its Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) or
  3. Associated Countries (AC) to Horizon Europe.

One applicant is allowed to submit up to 2 proposals, each addressing a different challenge. If more than one proposal was submitted, only the highest-scoring proposal will be considered for funding.
