Summary

The 2nd call for project proposals aims to select high-quality cross-border projects in which relevant actors will cooperate to find common solutions in areas such as socio-economic development through the enhancement of culture, sustainable tourism and the social economy.

Detailed Call Description

This Call concerns the submission of project proposals falling under Specific Objective 4.6 – Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion, and social innovation.

The aim is to fund cross-border cooperation projects that contribute to:

  • the enhancement of sustainable and innovative forms of alternative tourism
  • the improvement of accessibility and social inclusion
  • the use of innovative technologies to highlight areas of tourist and environmental interest and facilitate exploration of these areas
  • the revival, dissemination, and promotion of intangible and contemporary cultural heritage, as well as the development of synergies and complementary actions for its utilization.

Within the framework of this Call, proposals should involve interventions that:

  • Promote various forms of alternative tourism (agritourism, ecotourism, wellness tourism, underwater tourism, etc.) and make use of existing sites and infrastructure, contributing to the extension of the tourist season and the promotion of blue cultural heritage.
  • Enhance accessibility for all citizens, especially vulnerable groups (persons with disabilities, the elderly), in cultural and tourist sites and services.
  • Utilize innovative technologies (e.g., BIM, digital applications) to showcase areas of cultural and environmental interest and provide modern experiences of exploration and participation.
  • Develop synergies and interventions that contribute to the preservation and dissemination of elements of intangible cultural heritage (such as traditions, customs, cultural narratives), support contemporary cultural activities (visual and performing arts), and promote their broader visibility.
  • Include actions for public information and awareness, enhancement of human resource skills, and development of cross-border partnerships and networks.
