The CETPartnership has seven Transition Initiatives (TRIs) focusing on RDI Challenges described in the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) that address various technologies and system aspects connected to the clean energy transition, as well as several cross-cutting dimensions.
Each of the TRIs is led by one CETPartnership partner, known as the TRI Lead.
The CETPartnership Joint Call 2025 is a 2 stage-call structured with 10 Call Modules, addressing different energy technology and system challenges as well as different RDI approaches (research-oriented approaches (ROA) and innovation-oriented approaches (IOA)) for the clean energy transition, and thus complementing and completing each other:
Call Modules focusing on enabling technologies (CM2025-02, CM2025-03A/03B, CM2025-04, CM2025-05 and CM2025-06) typically address approaches with reference to the Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs). Some distinguish between research-oriented approaches (ROA, CM2025-03A) and innovation-oriented approaches (IOA, CM2025-03B). Call Modules focusing on system integration (CM2025-01, CM2025-02, CM2025-07, CM2025-08 and CM2025-09) typically address holistic, cross-sectoral and transformative approaches structured into three dimensions of innovation (see Subsection 2.3.2, page 13 at call text).
The Call modules describe specific topics and/or challenges that applicants shall address in their project proposals. Applicants must choose and apply to a specific Call module, when submitting their project proposal. Evaluation and ranking of the project proposals will be performed respectively per Call module.
Aims, challenges, scope, requirements and guidelines of the Call Modules and expected outcomes of funded projects are described in Chapter 7, page 32 at call text.
The Call generally aims to support projects applying for funding in the Call in the range of (but not limited to) €500.000 – €5.000.000.
The indicative budget contributed by the Czech Republic Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) is €1.200.000. The maximum funding per awarded project/per partner is € 250 000 and the expected number of projects to be funded is 5-6.For the submission of proposal/documentation please visit the TA CR Website. More information can be found on Funding Organisations and Call Modules section of the CETPartnership website).
Each national/regional Funding Organisation participating in the Call commits its budget to different Call Modules. According to their budget, rules and regulations, the Funding Organisations will fund eligible costs for the Beneficiary Partners. All potential applicants are therefore encouraged to check carefully that relevant Funding Organisations support the intended Call Module and topic as well as the types of organisations, costs, RDI approaches, TRLs etc. Information of the Funding Organisations is described in Annex B, page 78 of the call text).
Each partner involved in the project will be funded by its national/regional funding organisations. The consortium must therefore also comply with all the relevant national/regional eligibility rules.
The project must start 1st of September until 15 December 2026.
CETPartnership Joint Call 2025, includes the following eligibility criteria and requirements:
