The session is open to governmental authorities, governmental local and regional authorities, state organisations or companies, public organisations, civil society organisations, non-governmental and non-profit organisations, associations, academic and research institutions, whose work is relevant to the call\u2019s topics, and which are based in Cyprus and Greece.\r\n\r\nThe first part of the session includes an introductory presentation of the EU Programme\u00a0\u201cCitizens, Equality, Rights and Values\u201d (CERV<\/a>)<\/strong>, followed by a\u00a0presentation of the<\/em>\u00a0\u201cCall for proposals to promote civil society organisations\u2019 awareness of, capacity building and implementation of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights (CERV-2025-CHAR-LITI<\/a>)\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0which aims to\u00a0promote the founding rights and values of the Union by building primarily civil society organisations\u2019 awareness on and capacity to apply the Charter and to carry out activities to ensure that the fundamental rights enshrined in the Charter are upheld<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nIn the second part of the session,\u00a0Mrs Paschalia Leventi, Project Manager at the Center for Social Innovation Cyprus \u2013 CSI Cyprus<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0will present the CERV-funded project\u00a0\u201cCHASE: Combatting online HAte Speech by engaging online mEdia (CERV-2023-CHAR-LITI-SPEECH)\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, a project which is related to call\u2019s priorities. CSI draws know-how and skills from its wide global network, which includes academic institutions, IT companies, public services, international organizations, start-ups, and public services.\r\n\r\nShort description of the CHASE project<\/strong>\r\n\r\nOnline gender-based hate speech has catastrophic consequences, fuelling physical violence, victimisation and often leads to hate crimes. CHASE responds to the EU challenge of tackling online gender-based hate speech, which thrives on online mass media.
