SUMMARY:LIFE at the EU Clean Air Forum 2023
DESCRIPTION:On 23-24 November\, the fourth EU Clean Air Forum will be held in Rotterdam\, Netherlands. A selection of LIFE projects will participate there.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe fourth Clean Air Forum will bring together clean air stakeholders and interested parties from across the European Union\, including competent authorities of the Member States at all relevant levels\, the Commission\, industry\, civil society\, and the scientific community in a one-and-a-half-day conference. The event will serve as a platform to reflect on the development and implementation of effective European\, national and local air policies\, projects and programmes. Attention will be paid also to the ongoing revision of EU rules on ambient air quality.\n\nLIFE participation:\n\nThe following LIFE projects will be present at the event:\n\nLIFE CLINSH  is dedicated to enhancing urban air quality by implementing emission-reducing technologies and alternative fuels within the Inland Waterway transport sector. Through practical testing\, this project has provided valuable insights into the effectiveness and operational costs of these innovations\, contributing significantly to the pursuit of cleaner urban environments.\n\nLIFE-CMC  has a long-term goal to advance sustainability within the dairy farming industry. The project focuses on reducing ammonia emissions and establishing circular farming practices. DESCRIPTION:The European Researchers’ Night event\, which is the great celebration of research\, innovation and science and has been organized since 2006 in Cyprus by the Research and Innovation Foundation (IDEK)\, returns again this year under the title Mission: CONNECT. During the event\, scientists\, academics\, researchers/researchers and businesses will leave their workplaces for a while to present their actions and achievements to the public.\n\nThe event aims to promote the research and innovation culture as well as highlight the research activity that is developing in the country. Through the event of all ages\, they have the opportunity to interact with the research teams\, participate in experiments and interactive games\, live discussions\, awards and much more.\n\nIn this context\, IDEK announces an open invitation for the submission of Expressions of Interest from the bodies of the Research and Innovation (R&I) ecosystem to participate in the event with original activities\, which will be hosted in the Exhibition Space that will be prepared.\n\nThe Activities to be hosted at this year’s Event should fit into one or more of the aforementioned five (5) «Missions» R&I of the EU. The Activities should be interactive in nature\, using a variety of media (experiments\, video\, audio\, games \, simulations\, quizzes\, mobile applications\, use of scientific equipment\, painting\, crafts\, etc.) and giving the audience the opportunity to be actively involved. DESCRIPTION:The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) is holding a series of networking workshops\, aimed at promoting collaboration between the research and business communities\, encouraging them to jointly submit proposals under RIF’s new funding programme\, “Co-Develop”.\n\nThe workshops offer a unique opportunity for enterprises and research organisations to exchange views\, present their ideas\, as well as identify and explore new partnership opportunities.\n\nThe workshops will focus on the following sectors:\n\n 	19 September 2023 (9:00-11:00): Agrofood\n 	19 September 2023 (12:00-14:00): Maritime and Shipping Ecosystems\n\nIt should be noted that the €7.3m Co-Develop programme aims to form collaborations\, make use of existing know-how and produce new technological solutions to address challenges in the three sectors above.\n\nDuring the workshops\, each participant will be able to briefly present their idea and/or their organisation\, while free networking to follow is expected to facilitate new connections and productive discussions among participants.\n\nInterested parties can register here by Monday\, 18 September 2023 at 13:00. It is noted that there is a limited number of seats\, which will be allocated on a first come\, first served basis. Participation is free of charge.\n\nResearch and Innovation Foundation (RIF)\n\nThe Research and Innovation Foundation (https://www.research.org.cy) is the national authority in charge of supporting and promoting research\, technological development and innovation in Cyprus.
