CSI draws know-how and skills from its wide global network\, which includes academic institutions\, IT companies\, public services\, international organizations\, start-ups\, and public services.\n\nShort description of the CHASE project\n\nOnline gender-based hate speech has catastrophic consequences\, fuelling physical violence\, victimisation and often leads to hate crimes. CHASE responds to the EU challenge of tackling online gender-based hate speech\, which thrives on online mass media. Since 2012 she is also actively involved in composing\, editing and submitting calls for proposals for EU Funded Programmes (Youth in Action Programmes\, Creative Europe\, Europe for Citizens\, European Cultural Foundation\, European Fund for the Balkans). Veroniki has lived in Italy\, Poland and the Netherlands and has travelled extensively in the Balkan Peninsula. As a volunteer herself\, she is co-founder of the regional organisation Balkans Beyond Borders contributing to the cultural diplomacy sector through the power of image and new media. She is a holder of the Joint Master of Arts on European Cultural Studies completed under the Erasmus Mundus Euroculture Programs and has completed a BA on International and European Studies.\n\nAmerissa Giannouli\, Youth Worker and Researcher\, Inter Alia\n\nAmerissa Giannouli is a youth worker and researcher. She has experience in participatory spatial planning and community engagement and as a certified non-formal learning educator\, she has created\, coordinated and facilitated a variety of activities in Greece and beyond. The session is open to governmental authorities\, governmental local and regional authorities\, state organisations or companies\, public organisations\, civil society organisations\, non-governmental and non-profit organisations\, associations\, academic and research institutions\, whose work is relevant to the call’s topics\, and which are based in Cyprus and Greece.\n\nThe first part of the session includes an introductory presentation of the EU Programme “Citizens\, Equality\, Rights and Values” (CERV)\, followed by a presentation of the call “Citizens’ engagement and participation (CERV-2025-CITIZENS-CIV)” which focuses on promoting citizens’ and representative associations’ participation in and contribution to the democratic and civic life of the Union by making known and publicly exchanging their views in all areas of Union action. The event will also feature a brief presentation on the Anna Lindh Foundation\, highlighting the opportunities it provides for fostering intercultural dialogue and collaboration across the Euro-Mediterranean region.\n\nIn the second part of the session\, Mrs Maria-Christina Constantinou\, Project Manager/Researcher at AKTI Project and Research Centre will present the CERV-funded project “RESIsles – Resilient Euro-Mediterranean Islands: Democratic Participation for Informed and Responsible Decisions on Climate and the Environment (CERV-2023-CITIZENS-CIV)”\, a project which is related to the call’s priorities. For more information on the project\, please visit the AKTI webpage here.\n\nThrough the presentation\, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about project management and implementation methods of EU-funded projects.\n\nAKTI Project and Research Centre is a Non-Profit-Non-Governmental organization based in Nicosia. AKTI was founded in 2000 by a group of environmental experts. For the past 25 years\, AKTI works closely on subjects related to the environment\, sustainability\, and marine plastic pollution. More specifically\, AKTI focuses on applied environmental research\, environmental education and vocational training and collaborates with schools\, Universities and local authorities.
